Glen Park Residence

San Francisco, CA
Modernist -
A modernist home set on a tree-lined street between Glen Park and Noe Valley. The project asked for a residence that could hold both openness and quiet, with rooms that move easily from one to the next and out to the garden beyond.
Vertical grain white oak runs through the interior. Millwork wraps the living room and continues into a custom library, with oak underfoot. The kitchen opens to dining and family rooms, all oriented to the southern light and the depth of the garden.
At the center, an open stair rises as a core of daylight. Skylights at the upper suite draw light down through the home, and the southeastern outlook brings the surrounding greenery into the rooms it touches. The lower level holds three bedrooms and two baths, alongside the working rooms of the household and direct access to the outdoors.
